NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY - U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT NO. 05000297/2020202

Dear Dr. Hawari:

On August 31-September 2, 2020, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted a security inspection at your North Carolina State University PULSTAR Reactor. The inspection results were discussed with members of your staff on September 2, 2020.

The enclosed report documents the inspection results.

The inspection examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to security and compliance with the NRCs rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license. The inspector reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed personnel. Based on the results of this inspection, no findings of non-compliance were identified. No response to this letter is required.

In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Section 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the NRCs document system (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room). However, because of the security-related items contained in the enclosure, and in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d), a copy of this letters enclosure will not be available for public inspection.
