ASSESSMENT FOLLOW-UP LETTER FOR DRESDEN NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNIT 3INSPECTION REPORT 05000249/2017008

Dear Mr. Hanson:

As a result of our quarterly review of plant performance, which was completed on October 2, 2017, the NRC updated its assessment of Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit 3.

The NRCs evaluation consisted of a review of performance indicators and inspection results.

This letter informs you of the NRCs assessment of your facility. This letter supplements, but does not supersede, the annual assessment letter issued on March 1, 2017 (ADAMS Accession Number ML17054D264).

After reviewing Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit 3 performance in addressing the White finding, identified in our final significance determination letter dated February 27, 2017 (ADAMS Accession Number ML17058A419), and the results from the inspection performed under Inspection Procedure 95001, Supplemental Inspection Response to Action Matrix Column 2 Inputs, (ADAMS Accession Number ML17207A132), the NRC concluded your actions met the objectives of Inspection Procedure 95001. In accordance with the guidance in Inspection Manual Chapter (IMC) 0305, Operating Reactor Assessment Program, the White finding will only be considered in assessing plant performance for a total of four quarters and, as a result, the NRC determined the performance at Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit 3, to be in the Licensee Response Column of the ROP Action Matrix as of October 1, 2017. This letter will be made available for public inspection and copying at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html and at the NRC Public Document Room in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, Public Inspections, Exemptions, Requests for Withholding.
