Thank you for your letter dated October 18, 1988 informing us of the steps you have taken to correct items which we brought to your attention in our letter dated September 9, 198 Your corrective actions will be verified during our next inspectio We do not agree with your comment in Paragraph B of your letter which states that conducting the leak test of the sources satisfies the physical inventory requiremen The purpose of the physical inventory requirement is to ensure that a licensee is fully aware of the location of each source / gauge which is in his possession. For example, a licensee may have several gaugss in his possession which are distributed at a number of field sites, and simply conducting a leak test does not fulfill the inventory requirement. Physical inventory records must include the specific location of the source / gauge at the ?.ime that the inventory was conducted as well as other required information such as quantities and kinds of byproduct material, date of inventory, make and model of the gauge or source, and serial number For these reasons, the violation regarding physical inventories (Appendix A, Violation B) is a valid citatio Your cooperation with us is appreciate
