Reactor Operations Section 3 Inspection Summary Inspection on August 14, 1979 (Report No.50-156/79-03)

Areas Inspected: A turnover inspection was conducted on an unannounced basis. Maintenance surveillance, retraining and future plans werr. dis-cussed. The facility was toured and reactor operatic.n was oLacrved. The inspection involved 8 inspector hours onsite by two NRC inspecters.

Results: No items of noncompliance or deviations were identifieu.

General The inspection was conducted as a turnover inspection and consisted of meeting the people associated with the operation of the reactor and a brief general view of how the facility operates.

The planned refuel of the core with the FLIP fuel load had been completed and core reactivity tests were being conducted. These operations included the security committments. A tour was conducted for familiarization of equipment and facility lay-out.

No items of noncompliance were identified on this tour.

Management Interview At the conclusion of the tour a informal meeting was held with the licensee representatives denoted in Paragraph one. The discussion including a brief outline by the licensee of future plans. The licensee's retraining program and results were also discussed.
