Insoection on February 26-27, 1980 (Report No. 50-106/80-01)
Areas Insoected: Routine unannounced inspection of operations, logs and records, procedures, requalification training, surveillance, and exadna-tion of the facility. This inspection involved two inspector-hours by two NRC inspectors.
Results: Of the six areas inspected, no items of noncompliance or devia-tions were identified.

2.
General The reactor was operated on ten occssions f rom July 15 to December 12, 1974.
It was placed in a shutdown status shortly thereafter by removing the control rods and placing a cadmium slug in the glory hole.
It has not been operated since then. However, the nuclear instrumentation has been maintained operational and was being checked by the Reactor Supervisor. The licensee has received approval to deactivate the fa-cility.
The deactivation is tentatively set for the summer of 1980.

Tour A tour of the facility disclosed that it was indeed in the shutdown condition as described above.
fluclear instrumentation appeared to be operating satisfactorily. Appropriate radiation controls were in effect at the facility.

Records Records examined inclu,ded selective review of the operations log, and minutes of the Reactor'0perations Committee meetings. The examination of records disclosed that the reactor had remained shutdown and systems have been checked in accordance with the technical specifications since the last inspection.
5.
Exit Interview The inspector met with licensee representatives (denoted in Paragraph 1) at the conclusion of the inspection on February 27, 1980.
The in-spectors sumnarized the scope and findings of the inspection and ad-vised the licensee that no items of noncompliance or deviations were identi fied,
