Gentlemen:
-Subject: Cojnbined Inspection Nos. 50-157/89-01; 50-97/89-01 This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Ms. M. Banerjee and Mr. R. Plasse 'of this office on April 25-26, 1989, of activities authorized by NRC License Nos. R-80 and R-89 and to the discussions of our findings held by Ms. Banerjee and Mr. Plasse with Mr. H. C. Aderhold of your staff at the conclusion of the inspectio Areas examinad during this inspection are described in the NRC Region l'
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective. examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with' personnel, and observations of facility operation by the inspectors. Overall, the inspectors found your
.
activities to be technically sound and, responsive.to previous concern The inspectors noted improvements in the scheduling and administration of the licensed operator requalification examinations. However, a weakness was identifed in the area of documentation. For example, it was not clear from the available documentation that all of the ZPR facility licensees are meeting the requirements of performing 4 hours4.62963e-5 days
0.00111 hours
6.613757e-6 weeks
1.522e-6 months
per calendar quarter of operator functions. Your attention is directed to this concer We appreciate your cooperation in these matter
Sincerely,
