Dear Dr. McDeavitt:
From December 11-14, 2017, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted an inspection at the Texas A&M University Nuclear Science Center for the Aerojet General Nucleonics Model 201 Modified Reactor. The inspection included a review of activities authorized for your facility.
The inspection examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to security and compliance with the Commissions rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license.
The inspector reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed personnel. Based on the results of this inspection, no findings of non-compliance were identified. No response to this letter is required.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of NRCs document system (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room). However, because of the security-related items contained in our inspection report, and in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d), a copy of our report will not be available for public inspection. Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, please contact William Schuster at 301-415-1590 or by electronic mail at William.Schuster@nrc.gov.
