Dear Ms. Connor:

This is in response to your letter dated November 6,1978 in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, a list of 13 documents relating to employee overexposure and power plant problems.

Your letter was received by the Office of Administration on November 21, -

, Copies of the documents listed in Appendix A except for the exempt portions of document 2 are being placed in the NRC Public Document Room, 1717 H Street, N.W. , Washington DC for you to review.

Portions of document 2 of Appendix A have been deleted in order to withhold the names of individuals who have' been exposed to radiation.

Because disclosure of the information would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy, it is being withheld from public disclosure pursuant to exemption (6) of the Freedom of Information Act (5 U.S.C.

552(b)(6)) and 10 CFR 9.5(a)(6) of the Commission's regulations.

For your information document 8 is a letter dated June 7,1973, which refers to a previous notification made on May 8,1973.

Pursuant to 10 CFR 9.9 of the Commission's regulations, it has been determined that the information withheld is exempt from production or disclosure, and that its production or disclosure is contrary to the public interest. The persons responsible for this denial are the undersigned and John G. Davis, Acting Director, Office of Inspection and Enforcement.

This denial may be appealed to the Commission's Executive Director for Operations within 30 days from the receipt of this letter. As provided in 10 CFR 9.11, any such appeal must be in writing, addressed to the 7812190d30
