Subject:
WNP-2, OPERATING LICENSE NPF-21 INFORMATION SUBMITTAL: USE OF SECURITY FORCE PFRSONNEL FOR FIRE PATROL DUTY This letter provides information on recent changes at WNP-2. No staff action is requested.
WNP-2 security force personnel are now performing the hourly fire patrols for impairments of fire protection features. The individuals have no direct security duties during periods when they are on fire patrol, but would temporarily interrupt the fire patrol activity if necessary to assist the security force during emergency security contingencies as outlined in the Physical Security Plan. Therefore, this patrol activity does not degrade the security function governed by 10 CFR Part 73. This realignment was discussed informally with staff during the process of assigning the fire patrol function to WNP-2 Security.
Should you have any questions or desire additional information regarding this matter, please call me or D. A. Swank at (509) 377-4563.
Sincerely
. V. Parrish (Mail Drop 1023)
