to TMI Action Plan Item II.K.3.18,"
Dated April 13, 1983 The reference letter provides the NRC staff position regarding implementation of design changes to the existing ADS system to preclude the need for manual actuation during certain events to ensure adequate core cooling.
In addition, the letter requests a Supply System response to this evaluation by May 6, 1983.
The Supply System commits to implementation of one of the two approved options (2 or 4) on the WNP-2 Plant.
Plans are to base the option selection process on evaluated benefit to the overall ADS system design, impact on schedule, avai 1-ability of hardware and analysis, and total cost of implementation.
Details regarding the change, including the option selected and implementation
- schedule, wi 11 be provided upon completion of the decision process.
With submittal of this letter, the Supply System considers that it has satisfied the Commission's requirements included in the Reference.
