Intake Screen Modeling Results for Columbia Generating Station. 2018 Per Reference 1, Biological Opinion, Section 2.d of the Terms and Conditions, I am writing to inform your agency that Energy Northwest has completed the computation fluid dynamics study of the Columbia Generating Stations (Columbia) intake screens and I am providing the required final report via this correspondence.

The modeling effort and results were completed based on the design approach outlined in Reference 2 and the initial report was provided to your agency staff for review (Reference 3).

Energy Northwest and our contracting partners met with your agency on May 16, 2018 to discuss this effort and the findings contained in the results report. Following our meeting and the opportunity to address questions and comments, Energy Northwest was informed that there were no substantive comments to the report and we were instructed to submit a formal hard copy to your agency and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank your staff for the time and effort to complete the review and evaluation of the Computation Fluid Dynamics report and Columbia's intake structures. Energy Northwest has removed notations on the final report indicating the data within the report contained proprietary information . We are supportive of using the information contained with in the final document to advance knowledge , training, or decision making related to intake structures and fish protection .
