On March 12, 2012, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued the referenced Information Request. Enclosures 2 and 4 of the NRC letter contain specific Requested Actions, Requested Information and Required Responses associated with Recommendations 2.1 and 2.3 for flooding evaluations and walkdowns. This letter provides Energy Northwest's response to these items for Columbia Generating Station.
The requested information is provided in Attachment 1 to this letter. This letter contains no new regulatory commitments.

ENERGY NORTHWEST'S 90 DAY RESPONSE TO THE MARCH 12, 2012 INFORMATION REQUEST RELATED TO RECOMMENDATIONS 2.1 AND 2.3 FOR FLOODING EVALUATIONS AND WALKDOWNS Page 1 of 2 Recommendation 2.1: Floodinq The response date for Columbia Generating Station's (Columbia's) Flooding Hazard Reevaluation Report was identified in Reference 2 as March 12, 2014, which corresponds to 2 years from the date of Reference 1. Energy Northwest plans to comply with the requested response date.
Energy Northwest plans to meet the requested dates for the other required responses in of Reference 1. Specifically, an approach for developing an Integrated Assessment for Columbia will be submitted 60 days after the NRC endorses Integrated Assessment guidance. In addition, if it is necessary to complete an Integrated Assessment for Columbia, the Integrated Assessment Report will be submitted 2 years following submittal of the Hazard Reevaluation Report.
Recommendation 2.3: Floodinq For flooding recommendation 2.3 (walkdowns), Enclosure 4 of Reference 1 states that each licensee is to confirm that it intends to use the NRC-endorsed flooding walkdown procedure or provide a description of the process that will be used to conduct the walkdowns and to develop the needed information.
Energy Northwest confirms that it will use the flooding walkdown procedure, NEI 12-07, "Guidelines for Performing Verification Walkdowns of Plant Flood Protection Features,"
endorsed by Reference 3 as the basis for the flooding walkdowns at Columbia.
Energy Northwest plans to comply with the requested response date in Enclosure 4 of Reference 1. Specifically, Energy Northwest will submit a final report documenting the results of its flooding walkdowns at Columbia no later than November 27, 2012, which corresponds to 180 days after NRC endorsement of the generic guidance.
