Docket No. 50-482: Withdrawal of 10 CFR 50.55a Request 4VR-02 for the Fourth Ten-Year Interval Inservice Testing (IST) Program Gentlemen:

The purpose of this submittal is to withdraw Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC) 10 CFR 50.55a Request 4VR-02 which was submitted in the Reference.

Subsequent to the submittal of the Reference, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) published in the Federal Register (79 FR 65776) on November 5, 2014 a final rule amending 10 CFR 50.55a. The final rule includes the incorporation by reference of Regulatory Guide 1.192, Revision 1, May 2014, "Operation and Maintenance Code Case Acceptability, ASME OM Code." With the issuance of the final rule, Code Case OMN-1, "Alternative Rules for Preservice and Inservice Testing of Certain Electric Motor-Operated Valve Assemblies in Light-Water Reactor Power Plants OM Code-1995, Subsection ISTC," can be implemented (in accordance with the provisions in Regulatory Guide 1.192, Revision 1) without a 50.55a request. As such, WCNOC is withdrawing 10 CFR 50.55a Request 4VR-02.
