| Event Description | The following information was provided by the Florida Bureau of Radiation Protection via email:
At approximately 1445 [EST], Federal Engineering & Testing's radiation safety officer (RSO) was notified by an on-site technician of an incident involving a Troxler soil moisture density gauge. The gauge was struck by a dump truck while in use during a soil survey in the Everglades near the Belle Glade area. The technician reports that the source rod remains intact; however, the plastic casing of the gauge is crushed. The RSO is responding to the site to verify the condition of the source using a survey meter. Florida event number: FL26-006 |
