Title	Lost Troxler Gauge
Event Description	The following is a summary of an email received from the state of Florida: At approximately 1645 EDT on 9/29/21, the Universal Engineering Sciences (UES) Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) called to report a lost Troxler gauge (Model 3440 with a 8 milliCurie Cs-137 and 40 milliCurie Am-241:Be source) that fell off a company truck. The loss occurred at approximately 0910 EDT, 9/29/21. The driver/operator failed to place the gauge in its case, departed job site in company truck, and later realized the loss. Several UES employees unsuccessfully searched the truck route for the gauge. The RSO contacted the Tampa and the Tampa International Airport Police Department to appraise the situation. FL incident no.:21-124 THIS MATERIAL EVENT CONTAINS A 'Less than Cat 3' LEVEL OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL Sources that are "Less than IAEA Category 3 sources," are either sources that are very unlikely to cause permanent injury to individuals or contain a very small amount of radioactive material that would not cause any permanent injury. Some of these sources, such as moisture density gauges or thickness gauges that are Category 4, the amount of unshielded radioactive material, if not safely managed or securely protected, could possibly - although it is unlikely - temporarily injure someone who handled it or were otherwise in contact with it, or who were close to it for a period of many weeks.
