| Title | Loss of Emergency Communications Capability (Erds) |
| Event Description | At 1030 [EDT] on 10/16/08, Emergency Planning personnel discovered that both ERDS [Emergency Response Data System] links (modems) were not functioning. The cause of the failure is unknown at this time and is being investigated by onsite technicians. The Emergency Notification System (ENS) was verified to be functioning properly. Loss of either ERDS link is considered a major loss of emergency communication capability and is reportable under 10 CFR 50.72(b)(3)(xiii).
The licensee notified the NRC Resident Inspector. |
