| Event Description | Vermont Yankee was notified by it's radio & siren vendor that the Ames Hill NOAA transmitter was inoperable between 1930 hours0.0223 days <br />0.536 hours <br />0.00319 weeks <br />7.34365e-4 months <br /> on 7/20/04 and 1055 hours0.0122 days <br />0.293 hours <br />0.00174 weeks <br />4.014275e-4 months <br /> on 7/21/04 due to a loss of normal power and a failure of it's backup generator. This failure caused the Public Notification System (PNS) to be inoperable during the period which is considered a major loss of emergency response capability.
The licensee informed the NRC Resident Inspector. |
