Mr. Jackson was assigned to his current position as Chief, Operations Branch, Region I, DRS in August 2011. Previously he was Chief, Projects Branch 5, Region I, DRP.
Don joined the NRC in 2003 as an operator license examiner; however, he spent most of his time in DRP. Prior to joining the NRC, Don was a NRC Licensed Senior Reactor Operator at both the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, and the Salem Nuclear Generating Station. While at Salem, Don was also the Manager of Nuclear Training for both the Salem and Hope Creek stations.
Don spent five years in the Navy's Nuclear Power Program as a submarine officer. Don received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Widener University in 1985, and a Masters Degree in Engineering Management from George Washington University in 1998.
Don is married and has two daughters in college.
F.-P. Weiss is member of the advisory editorial boards of the Annals of Nuclear Energy and the German Journal Kerntechnik. He serves as expert in reactor safety, among others, to the European Commission and the French CEA. He is member of the German Reactor Safety Commission. Currently, F.-P. Weiss is chairman of the governing board of the European NURISP (Nuclear Reactor Integrated Simulation) Project and member of IAEA INSAG.
