The Limerick Generating Station license amendment request was a pilot submittal in support of Boiling Water Reactor Owners' Group Risk-Informed Initiative 5b.

Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) intends to submit a similar License Amendment Request (LAR), and requests NRC consideration of the Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP) as a pilot plant for the Pressurized Water Reactor Owners' Group (PWROG) Risk-Informed Initiative 5b. In support of this initiative, PG&E will work with the PWROG and the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) in developing its application consistent with the corresponding Technical Specification Task Force Traveler, and in accordance with the methodology in NEI 04-10, "Risk-informed Technical Specifications Initiative 5B; Risk-Informed Method for Control of Surveillance Frequencies." The DCPP Technical Specifications are based on NUREG-1 431, "Standard Technical Specifications Westinghouse Plants."

Also, in accordance with 10 CFR 170.11(a)(1)(ii) and (iii), PG&E requests a waiver of fees associated with the NRC review of the DCPP LAR.

PG&E currently intends to submit the LAR by the end of the third quarter of 2007.
