Entergy letter dated July 15, 2005, "Proposed License Transfer and Conforming License Amendment Request, NPF-38-261"

Dear Sir or Madam:

Entergy Louisiana, Inc. (ELI) and Entergy Operations, Inc. (EOI) applied for a transfer of control of Facility Operating License and Materials License No. NPF-38 for the Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3 (Waterford 3). The transfer is associated with the restructuring of ELI from a Louisiana corporation to a Texas limited liability company, Entergy Louisiana, LLC (ELL). The NRC Staff has requested clarification regarding the decommissioning funding.Section I.E of Attachment 1 of the referenced correspondence noted there will be no changes to the existing mechanisms that provide financial assurance for the decommissioning of Waterford 3. The balance in the decommissioning trusts will not change as a result of the license transfer.
