In Reference 1, in accordance with the provisions of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 50.12, "Specific exemptions," paragraphs (a)(2)(ii) and (a)(2)(v), Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) submitted a one-time schedular exemption for the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SQN), Units 1 and 2, from the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix E, Section IV.F.2.d, regarding the State of Tennessee participation in the ingestion pathway portion of an exercise at least once every exercise cycle. In Reference 2, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) determined that an exemption is not required; therefore, TVA is withdrawing Reference 1.
