Before I ask the Secretary to lead us through the 6
affirmation, do any of the Commissioners have any comments 7
they care to make.
If not, Mr. Chilk, you may proceed.

Mr. Chairman, before we go to the item 9
in question, I would ask the Commission to vote to hold this 10 meeting on less than one weeks notice.

It is entitled, " Environmental and Resource 14 Conservation Organization's Petition for Reconsideration of i
15 CLI-93-03.
16 The Commission is being asked to respond to a 17 petition from the Environmental and Resource Conservation i
18 Organization for a reconsideration of portions of the 19 Commission's March 3, 1993 Memorandum and Order concerning.
n 20 the activities with respect to decommissioning at Rancho 21 Seco.
The petition requests expansion of the Order to 22 include a requirement that ECO be apprised of oral 23 communications between the licensee and the staff and an 24 extension of the time from 14 to 19 days from service of any 7
25 documentation submitted to ECO from SMUD in which to file an 26 amended contention.

1 All of the Commissioners have approved the Order l
2 attached to our memorandum of March 15 denying the part of 3
the petition requesting that ECO be apprised of oral 4
communications.
The Chairman, Commissioners Rogers, Curtiss 5
and de Planque have also approved denial of the part of the 6
petition requesting an extension of time.

7 Remick disapproves the denial of this part of the petition
