SUMMARY
l In a letter dated June 30, 1986,II) the Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company (CYAPCO) provided the NRC Staff with the conceptual design information J
for the new switchgear building at the Haddam Neck Plant, including a descrip-tion of the new facility.
The major milestone schedule for the construction and implementation phases of this gject was provided to the NRC Staff in a letter dated 30, 1988.ger Sept 30, 1986 and supplemented by a letter dated September These letters committed to provide the NRC Staff with bimonthly progress reports.
The following is a breakdown of the major activi-ties accomplished and ongoing for the twentieth reporting period.
PROJECT
SUMMARY
The 1989 Refueling Outage started on September 2,1989.
Construction on the i
new switchgear building continues to progress in accordance with plant condi-i tions.
Because of the delays ex)erienced in the refueling outage, the testing and final tie-in schedules for tie New Switchgear building are being worked in accordance with the required plant conditions.
CYAPC0 will continue to provide the NRC Staff with updated Bimonthly Progress Reports through the completion of this outage, currently projected to be completed in April /May of 1990.

Engineering activities are currently concentrated on support for construction.
Details on the engineering activities are included in Section 1.0.
Raceway installation and cable pulling in the station is essentially complete.
Details of the construction activities are included in Section 2.0.

1.1 General Engineering activity this reporting period was primarily focused on:
o Construction support.
o PDCR turnover for test and release to operations.
o Continuing as built efforts.

2.2 New Switchgear Building (PDCR No. 865)
Work is complete. The PDCR has been released to operations.
2.3 Ductbanks (PDCR No. 873)
All work is complete. The PDCR has been released to operations.
2.4 Stairtowers and Walkways (PDCR No. 876)
All work is complete.
The construction turnover is complete.
Working on release to Operations.
2.5 HVAC Installation (PDCR No. 868)
Testing of ventilation and air conditioning including air balancing was completed. The portion of the PDCR for the HVAC system for the third floor of the new switchgear building has been released to operations.
The construction turnover for the first and second floor is complete.

2.6 New Switchgear Building Raceway (PDCR No. 900)
The PDCR has been partially released to operations.
Final release to Operations in progress.

Final cable pulls are complete for equipment repowering.
Only paging and communications cable pulls remain.
2.12 Terminations & Testing (PDCR No. 910) o Terminations are ccmplete. for Appendix P. equipment repowering.

All installed Appendix R equipment has been tested on a component level from the new B-train power configuration, Integrated test procedures will be completed in February contingent on station conditions required for testing.
