Dear Sir or Madam:

By Reference 1, Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy) submitted a License Renewal Application (LRA) for Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 2 (AN0-2). During the review of Reference 1, the NRC Staff issued a request for additional information (RAI). The Staff requested clarifications to some previously docketed RAI responses for the LRA. Reference 2 provided the requested clarifications for one set of the RAI responses.

2CAN071603 Page 2 of 3 In Reference 2, Entergy made two commitments related to the reactor vessel internals. These commitments were to submit a description of the Cast Austenitic Stainless Steel program and the Reactor Vessel Internals Program to the NRC for review and approval. The Aging Management Program Plan for the AN0-2 Reactor Vessel Internals is attached, which addresses both of these commitments.

AN0-2 is a Category 2 plant according to Reference 3.

The plan identifies the internals components to be included for aging management review and identifies the augmented inspection plan for the AN0-2 reactor vessel internals. This plan implements the Electric Power Research lnstitute's Materials Reliability Program: Pressurized Water Reactor Internals Inspection and Evaluation Guidelines (MRP-227-A) (Reference 4).

This program was developed so that the aging effects of the reactor vessel internal components are adequately managed and provide reasonable assurance that the internals components continue to perform their intended function throughout the period of extended* operation (PEO).

Reference 5 provides Revision 1 of the Final Safety Evaluation of MRP-227-A. As part of that evaluation, a number of action items and conditions were specified. Documented in Section 5 of the attached program plan is how AN0-2 conforms to those action items and conditions.

The commitments listed in Reference 2 stated the submittal date would be at least 24 months prior to entering the PEO. AN0-2 enters the PEO on July 17, 2018.

This letter contains no new regulatory commitments.
