SUMMARY

APRIL 1987 UNIT TWO The unit began the month at 100% power.

At 1720 hours0.0199 days <br />0.478 hours <br />0.00284 weeks <br />6.5446e-4 months <br /> on the twenty-fourth, a plant shutdown was commenced due to indication of leakage from a pressurizer heater penetration.

Subsequent inspections revealed that two heaters had failed. -The failure mechanism of the heaters caused damage to the heater penetrations.

Only one of these penetrations was damaged to the point of leakin0 The unit remained shut down through the end of the month for repairs to the damaged penetrations.
