NRC MONTHLY OPERATING REPORT OPERATING

SUMMARY

NOVEMBER 1983 Unit 1 The unit started the month at 100% full power.

At 2324 hours0.0269 days
0.646 hours
0.00384 weeks
8.84282e-4 months
on November 2 a control problem on the E-1A feedwater heater drain valve caused the "A" Heater Drain Tank to empty, thus tripping the heater drain pump P-8A on low suction pressure.

This caused the third condensate pump to autostart and required a manual reduction in plant power to 83%.

The unit was restored tg 100% full power at 0400 hours0.00463 days
0.111 hours
6.613757e-4 weeks
1.522e-4 months
en November 3, where it remained through the end of the month.

The unit ran with all three condensate pumps from November 15 through November 25 because of low main feedwater (MFW) pump suction pressure on the "B" MFW pump.

This was due to leakage past the "B" MFW pump recirculation I

bypass line isolation valve.

The line was " plugged" on November 25, and the valve will be repaired during the next outage of sufficient duration.
