Gentlemen:
As stated in our October 15, 1980 letter, a detailed reliability analysis was performed for the EFW system upgrade.
A copy of this analysis is attached for your information.
It should be noted that we are addressing the recommendations made in the attached reliability analysis.
Also, the values given for unavailability in the analysis are not absolute ar i are only for comparison purposes with results obtained by similar methodology.
As you are aware, we are presently revising the design of our EFW system to comply with item II.E.1.2 of NUREG 0737.
Design improvements are planned using Standard Review Plan Section 10.4.9 and the assuciated Branch Technical Position ASB 10-1 as principle guidance.
Design changes intended to improve reliability are being assessed in terms of cost / benefit since no specific reliability goal exists.
