Attached is a Technical Specification change for your review and Q
approval.
This change eliminates the environmental monitoring of the embayment of Unit 1 to determine the proper rate of change of discharge temperature.
The monitoring of the embayment was t.o determine if there was an adverse impact on the aquatic environment associated with plant shutdown during the winter months.
Based on data collected over a six year period, a rate of change of 6 5 F per hour has been determined to be satisfactory.
This data has been collected, recorded and reported to the NRC in AP&L's Annual Environmental Monitoring Report.
