- Issuance Of Amendment Re: The Conversion To Improved Technical Specifications (TAC No. MA8082)
Dear Sir or Madam:
The NRC requested in letter dated October 29, 2001 (1CNA100102 and described above),
that Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy) provide notification via letter of implementation of Technical Specification (TS) Amendment 215 for Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 1 (ANO-1). TS Amendment 215 approved the conversion of the ANO-1 TSs to the improved standard format of NUREG-1430, Rev. 1. This letter is intended to inform you that TS Amendment 215 was implemented at midnight on the morning of July 8, 2002. The old TSs have been removed from the operations facilities and replaced with the improved standard TSs of Amendment 215.
Therefore, any further correspondence or other communication with the NRC staff related to TS issues will be in the context of the new Amendment 215.
Additionally, ANO-1 TS Amendments 216 (COLR methodology change), 217 (Incorporation of TSTF-358, Missed Surveillances), and 218 (Administrative changes to Amendment 215) were also implemented in conjunction with Amendment 215.
Entergy would again like to extend its thanks and appreciation for the significant effort put forth by the NRC staff in the approval process of this conversion.
If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact David Bice at 479-858-5338.
I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct.
Executed on July 10, 2002.
Sincerely, Sherrie R. Cotton Director, Nuclear Safety Assurance
