2018 AN0-1 NRC Exam Administered March 7, 2018 Page 1 of 1 RO Final Written Examination Analysis The threshold for determination of questions to be analyzed was a percentage of greater than 50% incorrect responses. We also analyzed other questions based on candidate feedback following the examination.

  1. 7 7/10 total candidates incorrect (70.0%)

Five chose "A, two chose "D". The correct answer is "B".

This question asks which ESAS channels close the Service Water (SW) isolations to the Intermediate Cooling Water (ICW) coolers and also asks why this is done. The correct answer "B" is ESAS channels 1 and 2 and the reason is to separate the SW trains since the trains are cross-tied on the downstream side of the ICW coolers. Apparently the distractor "A" was chosen most since it had the correct channels but had the wrong reason, i.e., to prevent SW pump runout.

Distractor "D" had the correct reason but listed incorrect ESAS channels. We will be performing training needs analysis on this question.

6/10 total candidates incorrect (60.0%)

One chose "D", and five chose "B". The correct answer is "A".

This question involves a liquid radwaste release and asks what the method is for checking functionality of the liquid radwaste radiation monitor when the monitor is reading less than 1000 dpm. The correct answer "B" states to use the check source function. Distractor "B" states to lower the alarm setpoint until it alarms which is used to verify the release isolation valve goes closed when the monitor alarms. We will also be performing training needs analysis on this question.

SRO Final Written Examination Analysis The threshold for determination of questions to be analyzed was a percentage of greater than 50% incorrect responses. There were no questions which met this criteria, so no analysis was performed.
