Dear Mr. Denton :

Enclosed please find Reportable Occurrence Report No.

50-295/79-9 for Zion Generating Station.

This occurrence was initially overlooked by the station and brought to our attention on December 1, 1978 by the Region III NRC inspector.

After receipt of the NRC inspection report (dated January 12, 1979) the station committed to respond by February 15, 1979.

This report is submitted to you in accordance with the requirements of the Technical Specifications, Section 3.12.5 which states that conditions leading to operation in degraded mode permitted by a limiting condition for operation or plant shutdown required by a limiting condition for operation require a 30 day written report.
