The Federal Register is a big archive of documents.
URL Linking method
In order to link to Federal Register documents you must start with the URL: http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getpage.cgi
A similar method can be used for Merlin as described by URLServer.
This is a Form program on their website. It requires a few inputs to generate a result.
- dbname=<database name> WARNING:no dates before 1995 or volume 60.
- eg. dbname=2000_register
- page=<page number>
- eg. page=63786
- position=1
- unknown exactly. But has to be there. 1 seems to work fine.
Make sure to add a "&" between each input like the below example.
For example a full url to 65 FR 63786, Oct. 25, 2000 would look like:
- http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getpage.cgi?dbname=2000_register&page=63786&position=1
- Hence you can add a hyperlink on your page that looks like 65 FR 63786, Oct. 25, 2000 with this method.
Template method
Template:FR has been added for this wiki site. Use {{{FR|YEAR NUMBER|PAGE NUMBER|DISPLAY TEXT}}
- for example {{FR|2000|63786|65 FR 63786, Oct. 25, 2000}}
- which would be displayed as 65 FR 63786, Oct. 25, 2000
