REVIEW OF LONG-TERM CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN, DEGRADATION OF CONTAINMENT VERTICAL TENDONS (TAC NOS. MA1948 AND MA2042)

Dear Mr. Cruse:
The NRC staff has completed the review of the licensee's long-term corrective action plan related to the containment vertical tendons.
Based on the review of the licensee's sutettals, the staff finds that, in general, the procedure
' established for the long-term corrective action plan is reasonable However, the plan can be l
strengthened by (1) addog provisians to ensure the effectiveness of the short-term program in
{
preventing corrosion in the non-corroded tendons through detailed inspection, and (2) adding provisions to ensure the effectiveness of the long-term program (LTP) through frequent
' inspections subsequent to the completion of the LTP. The staffs evaluation is enclosed.
