Gallucci:
We are following up on your correspondence to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) last fall offering to be a speaker during the 2019 Regulatory Information Conference (RIC). We regret that we did not communicate with you acknowledging your incoming letter or send a response back to you regarding your offer to speak, and sincerely thank you for your interest. In reconstructing the sequence of events, we identified various transition points that contributed to our lack of timely communication. We are addressing our internal communications processes to ensure this does not happen again.
As is our practice, when we receive requests from outside of the NRC by individuals interested in speaking at the RIC, we consider the subject matter and forward the incoming request to applicable Session Chairs for consideration. If the subject matter lends itself to the session topic and the Session Chair was interested in including it as part of the discussion, the Session Chair would contact the requester directly. Unfortunately, by the time the RIC organizers received your inquiry, Session Chairs were finalizing their panelists and inviting their speakers.
