[External_Sender] RE: Community Engagement Panel Meeting Thanks Troy and also Scott for supporting this and all of the other public outreach that you have supported before and since the August 3 incident. It is very important for your attendance, as part of this outreach and maintaining a transparent process that the public can monitor and understand to the best extent possible. This is critical to the success of the SONGS decommissioning process in the short and long run.

Best regards and thanks Ted Quinn ANS Past President IEC SC45A WGA9 Convenor President, Technology Resources http://www.technology-resources.com/

Community Engagement Panel Meeting Mr. Quinn:

Thank you for requesting the NRC attend the November 29, 2018, Community Engagement Panel (CEP) meeting. Mr. Scott Morris, Deputy Regional Administrator, Region IV plans to be in attendance. Mr. Morris should be able to provide insights on inspection activities completed by Region IV staff.

For your awareness, NRC Region IV has performed many outreach activities following the August 2018 incident. We regularly converse via telephone and email with the local public, we created a section on the NRC Spotlight to provide information as soon as possible to the local public, and provided a publically available webinar on November 8, 2018.

Sincerely, Troy Pruett Director, Division of Nuclear Materials Safety
