This is in further response to your letter dated October 25,1978 in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, copies of documents relating to the environmental effects of the uranium fuel cycle and the disposal of nuclear wastes.

The documents listed in Appendix A are being placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR),1717 H Street, N.W. , Washington, DC. In addition, the documents listed in Appendix B are already in the PDR files for the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards.

Documents 1 through 3 of Appendix C coritain aavice, opinions, and recommendations of the -+aff and are being withheld from public disclosure

Pursuant to 10 CFR 9.15 of the Commission's regulations, it has been determined that the information withheld is exempt from production or disclosure, and that its production or disclosure is contrary to the public interest. The person responsible for this denial is James L.

This denial may be appealed to the Commission within 30 days from receipt of this letter.
