Certification of Permanent Cessation of Power Operations 10 CFR 50.82 On June 16, 2016, Omaha Public Power District's (OPPD) Board of Directors voted to permanently cease operations of Fort Calhoun Station (FCS) by December 31, 2016, due to financial reasons.
Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.82(a)(1 )(i), OPPD certifies to the NRC that it plans to permanently cease power operations at Fort Calhoun Station by December 31, 2016. A more specific date cannot be provided at this time in order to allow for fuel coastdown variables.
OPPD will submit a supplement to this letter certifying the cessation date in accordance with 10 CFR 50.82(a)(1
)(i) and 1 O CFR 50.4(b)(8).
