InourApril22,1983submittal,"StructuralReanalysisProgramfortheRobertE.GinnaNuclearPowerPlant",RGSEprovidedourrecommendationsforstructuralelementswhichshouldbeconsideredforupgradetowithstandtornadoeffects.Thebasisforselectionofthesestructuresisnotedasthosewhicharerequiredtoassure:0theintegrityofthereactorcoolantpressureboundary,thecapabilitytoshutthereactordownandmaintainitinasafeshutdowncondition,andothecapabilitytopreventaccidentswhichcouldresultinoffsiteexposureinexcessofthedoseguidelinesof10CFRPart100.BaseduponthesafeshutdownscenariodiscussedinSection3.5oftheApril22report,theattachedlistindicatesthosewallsthatRGSEcurrentlyconsiderssafety-relatedandwhoseintegritymustbemaintainedtoassuresafeshutdown.Specifically,RGSEstatedthattheblockwallswhosefailurecoulddamagerequiredmainsteamandfeedwaterlinecomponentsintheintermediatebuilding,andthosewhichwouldaffectthespentfuelassemblies,shouldbeconsideredforupgrading.Nootherblockwallspotentiallyexposedtotornadoeffectsareconsideredassafety-related.~Severalotherblockwallsarelocatedsuchthattornadoescouldnotcause.anystructuraldamage,andthuswerenotevaluatedintheApril22report.However,usingthesamesafetydesignbasis,thefollowingadditionalwallsareconsideredsafety-related:Bg05060400>000>444830428>DRADOCK htN4~NNCrhPNIh)Nt~gf'ININ=t+f~N)NCf'fN(r)"IfPggg,,PtNht~'N"I'tl(If41'~
