TheequipmenttobeaddedintheTSCandEOFwillreceiveinputfromtheSafetyAssessment.System(SAS)andanewplantprocesscomputer.ThespecificationfortheSASwasprovidedtotheNRCStaffwithaletterdatedJune8,1981.Developmentofthisadvanceddataacquisitionanddisplaysystemisproceedingonschedulewithinstallationexpectednoearlierthanlate1984.III.A.2.2REQUIREMENT:CompletemodificationsbyOctober1,1982.METEOROLOGICALDATARESPONSE:AnRGEletterdatedJuly1,1981providedadescriptionandascheduleofimplementationforanupgradedmeteorologicalmeasurementsandanalysisprogram.Weareimplementingtheprogramontheschedulethatweprovided,withonechangetotheprogram.TheproposedlongtermmeteorologicalsystemconfigurationshownonFigure4oftheJuly1submittal,whichwastouseRGEcomputersfordata.,analysis,willnotbeimplementedatthistime.Theproposedneartermmeteorologicalsystemconfigurationusinganonsiteminicomputerandoffsitecontractedcomputingfacilitieswillremainastheplannedconfiguration.OurJuly1,1981submittalrequestedanexpeditiousreviewofourproposedplanbecausetheNRCrequirementswerenotclearlydefinedandwehadbeeninformedthattherequirementsmightberevised.Wehaverecentlyreceived(May27,1982)anEmergencyPreparednessAppraisalfromRegion1whichincludesatleastanISEreviewofourcapabilities.Wehavenotyetcompletedadetailedreviewoftheappraisal.Ifanychangestoourprogramarenecessarywewilldevelopanimplementa-tionscheduleandsubmititatanappropriatetime.DiscussionswithmembersofbothNRRandIEindicatethatsomerequirementsarestillinastateoffluxandsomemaynotyetbeformulated.Ineithercaseadefinitiveimplementationschedulecannotbelaidout.ThemeteorologicalmeasurementsandanalysisprogrambeingimplementedbyRGEis,inourview,acceptableandwillprovidetheinformationnecessaryforeffectivemanagement.ofemergencysituationstoprotectpublichealthandsafety.III.D.3.4REQUIREMENT:Controlstudy.RoomHabitabilityModifyfacilityasidentifiedbylicenseeRESPONSE:AnRGEletterdatedSeptember4,1981providedanevaluationoftheGinnacontrolroomHVAC
