SUBJECT:

REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AS SET TEN FOR THE ELECTRICAL AND DIGITAL INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL REVIEW REGARDING THE TRISO-X, LLC LICENSE APPLICATION FOR A NEW FUEL FABRICATION FACILITY (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER L-2022-NEW-0005)

Dear Jennifer Wheeler:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has developed requests for additional information (RAI) provided as set ten to support the Electrical and Digital Instrumentation and Control portion of the TRISO-X, LLC (TRISO-X) safety and safeguards license application review.

Your application for a new fuel fabrication facility located in Oak Ridge, TN was submitted via letter dated April 5, 2022 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)

Accession Number ML22101A200); supplemented by letters dated October 13, 2022 (ML22286A144), November 4, 2022 (ML22308A251); and revised license application submitted by letters dated December 30, 2024 (ML24365A254) and January 31, 2025 (ML25031A449).

The RAI responses are due within 30 days of the date of this letter. Please let us know if you have an interest in holding a call to discuss the draft responses prior to formal submittal, consistent with NRC staff RAI process described in LIC-FM-3, Section 2.10.1(b) (ML22208A272). Extending the formal responses beyond the 30 days, the need for supplements, or a second round of RAIs may result in an extension of the proposed review schedule.

In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 2 Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs ADAMS. The ADAMS database is accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. The PDR is open by appointment. To make an appointment to visit the PDR, please send an email to PDR.Resource@nrc.gov or call 1-800-397-4209 or 301-415-4737, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. eastern time, Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays.
