SUMMARY
OF THE APRIL 18, 2002, MEETING WITH LASALLE COUNTY STATION TO DISCUSS PERFORMANCE On April 18, 2002, a public meeting was held at the Brookfield Township Hall between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the LaSalle County Station management and staff.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss NRCs assessment of the LaSalle County Stations performance for the period of April 1, 2001 through December 31, 2001. In addition, Mr. G. Barnes, Site Vice President, and Mr. M. Schiavoni, Plant Manager, discussed the licensee's assessment of performance for the calendar year 2001.
During the NRC presentation, an overall assessment of LaSalle County Station's performance was provided. As explained in the Annual Assessment letter from NRC to Mr. J. Skolds, dated March 19, 2002, (reference ADAMS accession number ML0208002150) the LaSalle County Station operated in a manner that preserved public health and safety and met all cornerstone objectives. The slides presented by the NRC are available in ADAMS (accession number ML021130021).
Before adjourning the meeting, the NRC provided the opportunity for members of the public to ask questions. There was several questions pertaining to nuclear power plant security asked by a member of the public during the meeting.
