SUBJECT:
HOPE CREEK INITIAL LICENSE EXAM QUALITY On November 24, 2003, at 9:30 a.m., a meeting was conducted at the Public Meeting Room in Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Region I, King of Prussia, between the NRC and the Hope Creek training staff. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Hope Creek initial license exam quality and in particular why the number of post-exam comments on the written tests for the past two initial exams exceeded criteria established in the Examination Standards.
The meeting was opened by the Region I Director, Division of Reactor Safety, who introduced the NRC staff. The Hope Creek Plant Manager then introduced his training staff, who subsequently initiated the facility presentation related to Hope Creek initial exams. Facility training staff described a number of the corrective actions they have taken or plan to take to address the quality of the written initial license exams. Approximately 13 people were present.
No members of the public attended.
