Notification of Intent to Apply Previously Approved 10 CFR Part 50 Quality Assurance Program to Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation Activities In accordance with 10 CFR 72.140(d), Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) hereby provides notification that it intends to apply the previously approved 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B Quality Assurance Program for Fort Calhoun Station (FCS), Unit No. 1, to Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) activities. OPPD shall meet the requirements of 10 CFR 72.174 for recordkeeping.

The FCS Quality Assurance Program was submitted to the NRC as part of the Final Safety Analysis Report on November 28, 1969 under docket number 50-285. The NRC approved the program in the original plant operating license Safety Evaluation Report issued August 9, 1973.

The program is currently maintained as Appendix A to the FCS Updated Safety Analysis Report (USAR).

No commitments are made to the NRC in this letter. Compliance with aforementioned regulations is considered to be an obligation. If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact T. C. Matthews at 402-533-6938.
