NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 COMMENTS ON DRAFT SAFETY EVALUATION REPORTS FOR PROPOSED LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUESTS (LARS)
By applications dated July 19, 2010 and October 21, 2010, Dominion requested amendments to the Technical Specifications (TSs) for the North Anna Power Station (NAPS), Units 1 and 2. The following amendments were requested:
Revise TS 5.6.5.b, "Core Operating Limits Report" to include NRC Approved Appendix C of Dominion's Fleet Report DOM-NAF-2-A, "Qualification of the Westinghouse WRB-2M CHF Correlation in the Dominion VIPRE-D Computer Code."
Add the Westinghouse Best Estimate Large Break Loss-of-coolant accident (BE-LBLOCA) analysis methodology using the Automated Statistical Treatment of Uncertainty Method (ASTRUM) for the analysis of LBLOCA to the list of methodologies approved for reference in the Core Operating Limits Report (COLR) in Technical Specification (TS) 5.6.5.b.
In e-mails dated February 15, 2012, the NRC provided the draft safety evaluation reports (SERs) for the two licensing actions identified above, to identify any proprietary content.
Dominion has reviewed the draft SERs and has determined that the draft SERs do not contain proprietary information.
