SUBJECT:

SUMMARY

OF MEETING ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SUSQUEHANNA FIRE PROTECTION PROGRAM On April 18, 1985 representatives of the NRC staff met with representatives of the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company to discuss the results of the March 18-21, 1985 NRR site visit.

During the site visit the staff reviewed the documentation supporting the Susquehanna Fire Protection Program (FPP) in order to determine the scope of and the proper steps in resolving those issues in question by the staff pertaining to the SSES FPP.

As a result of the March site visit the staff constructed a trip report which more clearly states the staff's position.

In addition to the trip report, a letter transmitting this report to the licensee which outlined more briefly the staff's concerns was presented for discussion at the meeting.

Following discussions PP&L agreed to respond to the staff's concerns formally in the near future.

This response will contain a proposed schedule for sub-mitting to the staff resolutions to the staff's concerns.

Enclosure 1 contains a list of attendees.

Enclosure 2 contains the letter to the licensee transmitting the trip report.

The trip'report is an attachment to the aforementioned letter.
