50-389 NgIIt P.
1982 APPLICANT:
Florida Power and Light Company, (FP&L)
FACILITY:
St.
Lucie Plant, Unit 2
SUBJECT:
SUMMARY
OF MEETING HELD IN BETHESDA, MARYLAND ON OCTOBER 13, 1982 REGARDING ACTIONS NEEDED TO RESOLVE SQRT AND PVORT ISSUES A summary of the issues (which were identified in the SQRT and PVORT audit report published in SSER.2) discussed and the actions to be taken is given below.
1.
Airline supports for MSIV:
FP8L formally submit that supports installed.NRC staff will verify installation.
2.
Valve I MV-08 Appli'cant verified the installation of the piping supports where this valve is mounted.
3.
ICW pump:
The method =used calculated total maximum displacement for each of two modes by SRSS of model displacement and then subtracted the two resultant values.
Relative displacements between the two modes should be determined for each mode and then the SRSS procedure used on those values to be consistent with Regulatory Guide 1.92.
If contact between the impeller and case wear sur'faces is not detrimental to pump operation as stated in the 20 July 1982 letter from Byron Jackson then this can be a justification for quali'fication.
FP8L will verify this statement with
'yron Jackson.
Furthermore the wear ring loads will be reviewed for acceptable levels or a statement that the wear ring can be worn away to the maximum displacement.
FP8L to certify that bolt stresses are within elastic limits and/or that this effect of bolt stresses beyond preload is acceptable.
4.
TE-14-3A - FP8L provided justification of the support design for this thermocouple assembly.
This item is closed out.
5.
4.16-KV switchgear:
FP8L will provide a description of the verification program for transformer installation inspection.
6.
45 KVA trans - Action taken by FP8L closed out this item.
7.
Battery racks -
NRC to consult with EG&G about battery type concerns 8.
PT-1107 - Action taken by FP&L closed out.this item.
