DOCKET 50-255, LICENSE DPR-20 PALISADES PLANT, A0-75-19 and A0-75-20 Abnormal Occurrence Reports were transmitted by letters dated September 9, and September 15, 1975 regarding dropped shutdown rods.

A review of the Analysis of Occurrence section of these reports disclosed an error.

Both reports stated that the reactivity of the dropped rod was less than 0.2% 6p and that the Technical Specifications limit on potential ejected rod worth was about 1%.

As a correction to this statement, we submit the following:

The maximum possible ejected rod worth at end of life (with zero ppm boron) is less than 0.33% 6p which is within the Technical Specifi-cations limit (while the unit remained at power) of 0.50% 6p, and is also less than the Technical Specifications of 1.0% 6p when the unit was brought to zero power and subsequently shut down.

The shutdown margin available was verified to be greater than limits addressed in Section 3.10.1 at all times while the unit was at power and at zero power.

This change does not affect our conclusion that plant operation could continue with one inoperable rod.
