Dear Mr. Ruby:
This is in partial response to your letter dated April 10, 1979, in v.hich you requested, pursuant to the Freedo:n of Information Act, all docua:nts and ccu onications in possession of the Nuclear Regulatory Cem;;ission r elating to the Three "ile Isic.nd Nuclear Generating Station Units 1 cnd 2.
The encloscd report, 'Iitle List-Publicly Available Docuc ents-Three Nile Island Unit 2-Docket 50-320" and the attached printcut identifies those records subject to your rcquest on the Unit 2 Reactor..hich have been disclosea publicly to date.
These records have bcen placed in Docket File 50-320 at the 'RC Public Docu ent Room (PDR), 1717 H Street, N.W.,
ash i ng ton, D. C. 20555.here they are available for public inspection and co;;ying.
The charge for reproducing these records is eight cents (30.08) per page, as specified in 10 CFR 9.14(a) of the Commission's regulations. Copies can be obtained by wrl ting directly to the PDR.
You will be billcd directly by the PDR Peproducticn Centractor, Poto~ac Research, Inc.
Within a few days you will be advised of those records,,hich are being withheld from oublic disclosure and the basis for the withholding.
Also, within a few weeks, you will be provided an updated list of records relating to the Unit 2 Reactor which have been disclosed publicly.
The reco:ds relating to the Unit 1 Reactor '.hich have been disclosed publicly are also available for public inspection and copying at the PDR.
An index to the Unit I records is available at the PDR, and a copy can also be purcnased from the POR at a cost of eight cents ($0.08) per page.
You will be advised within a few..eeks of any Unit 1 records which may be withheld from disclosure and the basis for the withholding.
There are also three publicly available litigation files relevant to the Three tiile Island Unit 2 Reactor; all are entitled Chaunery Keppord v.
NRC and are located in Dockets 78-1160, 78-1933 and 78-2170 of the United States Circuit Court for the District of Columbia.
