I BEFORE THE UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION In the Matter of Docket Nos. 50-463 PilILADELPHIA ELECTRIC COMPANY 50-464 AMENDMENT NO. 32 TO LICENSE APPLICATION OF PHILADELPIIIA ELECTRIC COMPANY On November 16, 1973, Philadelphia Electric Company (Applicant) filed with the Commission an Application for construction permits for the proposed Fulton Generating Station, Units 1 and 2.
This Application sought Commission approval to construct two 1100 - MWe High Temperature Gas Cooled Reactors (llTGR) manufactured by the General Atomic Company (GAC).
As a result of GAC's decision not to proceed with its IITGR program, it was necessary to evaluate alternatives available to the Applicant for utilization of the Fulton site.
In February, 1978, Applicant notified the Commission of its intent to amend
I Its Application to seek an Early Site Review of the Fulton site.
Accordingly, Applicant hereby amends its Application so as to request an Early Site Review and Partial Initial Decision related to site suitability issues for the Fulton site.
In support of Applicant's request for Early Site Revicw and Partial Initial Decision there are filed herewith and incoporated herein by reference a document entitled "Early Site Suitability Review Safety Report, Fulton Generating Station" and a document entitled "Early Site Suitability Review Environmental Report,Fulton Generating Station."
