May 21, 1980 CHAIRMAN Ms. June S. Chewning, Chair FEW/SMC Task Force for Monitoring and Coapliance Federally Employed Women, Inc.

P.O. Box 2105 Rockville, Maryland 20852

Dear Ms. Chewning:

This is in response to your letter of April 9,1980 requesting infomation on the agency's Federal Women's Program and copies of the NRC Affirmative Action Plan for FY 1980.

The Federal Women's Program Manager (FWPM) is on the staff of the Director of Administration. The FWPM does not have any staff assigned directly to her.

However, she has direct access to the secretaries in the Director's office. A committee made up of NRC employees also assists her in preparing briefings and articulating the special needs and concerns of NRC women. The Commission has determined that the assistance available to the FWPM is adequate to carry out the assigned functions.

Enclosed for your information are copies of the NRC Affirmative Action and Monitoring Plans ?or Fiscal Yer. 1980.

Thank you for your interest in the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Equal Employment Opportunity Program.
